Columns combine the functions of support and a beautiful element of decor. Therefore, it is very important to carry out the construction with high quality and accuracy. When installing the column formwork, you need to pay attention to the place where the structure will be installed. There should be no stratification of various debris, and the surface should be even.

Types of column formwork

The type of formwork largely depends on the shape and size of the future column. There are several main types.

Disposable column formwork

It is used for small round columns. There may be foam molds that can withstand concrete pressure up to 60 kN/m2. Film-coated cardboard tubes. After completion of work, the cardboard is disposed of.

Pipes made of asbestos and metal are used as a strong frame and remain the shape of the future structure. Often used for pouring piles. The diameter of such columns should not exceed 115 cm, and the height of 12 meters.

Reusable column formwork

Usually used for large objects more than 3 meters high. It is used repeatedly. Whichever option of reusable formwork you choose, there are common features of the work procedure:

Formwork must be installed at the construction site.
Concrete mortar is poured into the finished structure.
Wait until the contents are completely dry (as a rule, concrete dries for several days).
Further, the structure must be removed and installed in another place to continue work.

The strength and quality of the columns is directly affected by the correct installation. When choosing a reusable formwork, be sure to calculate the height. The height of the formwork is not allowed higher than the parameters of the product. It should be noted that the filling in this way will not be monolithic. Therefore, all the characteristics and requirements for the installation of a reusable type of formwork must be observed.
